Aftercare ally nominated for prestigious award

Aftercare ally nominated for prestigious award
MOTHERWELL College's pioneering Guidance and Support department has been nominated for a prestigious community award scheme.

The college, which works in partnership with Employment Enterprise Consultancy's Aftercare team, is as a finalist in Careers Scotland's Community and Partnership awards.

Nichola Shearer, the Aftercare team leader, said: "The outcome will be decided on November 15. We are all behind them.

"Motherwell is the first and only college in Lanarkshire to have their own key workers. All of the guidance, key workers and student staff have been more than helpful in assisting and welcoming Aftercare into their department.

Our aim is to offer as much tailored support, guidance and information as possible, to enable students to achieve their goals within further education.

This has been achieved through the strong relationship we have with the key workers."
